Hey guys, and welcome to Necropolis: Zombie Survival! Our goal here is to maintain a new and unique modern survival horror with more unique systems and GORY detailed areas for your enjoyment. We strive to create most efficient and interesting scripts, areas and events for all. For those of you that have played a Zombie Survival before, you're in for a surprise.
But before we get started:
THIS IS A PERMA DEATH SERVER.
Once you die, you are dead. There are no respawns. You can be helped up if you are bleeding out, but once your character is dead, that's it. There will be very few exceptions to this rule.
Once you die, you are dead. There are no respawns. You can be helped up if you are bleeding out, but once your character is dead, that's it. There will be very few exceptions to this rule.
Rules:
1) Have fun, but not at the expense of others:
This is self explanatory, really. As much as the setting is dark and supposed to be a survival horror feel, it is also here for you to enjoy yourself and have fun. Play your character the way they should be played, and get involved in the setting. Have fun, but do not do it in a way that you are intentionally trying to ruin the fun of others.
2) Be kind to your fellow Roleplayers:
Another simple rule, but it should be put in play anyway. Moments in the setting may get severely dramatic or intense. It is a scary, dark environment and it is easy to get caught up into everything. But remember, at the end of the day, other players are real people behind the screens of their computers. Whether they are players or the staff, do not harass or abuse these people. This will be addressed by the staff.
3) PKing and PvP:
-There is to be NO PKing whatsoever unless permission is announced by a DM, and it is directly supervised OR it is Subdual - UNLESS a PC turns into a zombie. Please try to get permissions to subdual from the other character as it is the respectful thing to do. Please hostile accordingly. Violators will be swiftly dealt with. Please ask for permission first otherwise. If one side thinks that PvP should still occur when the other has not agreed then you may consult a DM for their opinion on the matter. DM's have the final say.
As for PvP, so long as you observe the rules on PKing, you should be fine. Subdual is your friend. Remember that death here is permanent apart from a few rare situations.
4) OOC Chat:
-We understand that there are times when OOC chat is appropriate. Usually, it is only appropriate when you are announcing something, such as being afk, or you are leaving. All OOC chat must be noted as such with a prefix such as // or ((. We also ask that you keep much of your discussion in tells, as it is courteous to the other players and DMs. Please respect that some people just do not want to hear OOC chat.
5) Exploiting In-Game Systems:
-This is pertaining to exploiting any systems or bugs in the module. Just don't do it. If you find exploits or bugs in game, please post them on the forums, or message a DM. Sometimes, reporting these exploits will earn the player/character a small bonus, such as a little bit of XP.
6) Classes:
-Automatically, Bard, Druid, Sorcerer, Wizard, Cleric and Paladin classes have been banned. As this is a modern survival horror that reflects on how a post-apocalyptic real world would be, these classes do not fit in the scheme of this world. Those trying to create these classes will find they have been scripted out of the world, and will not be allowed to enter the module.
- 6A) Races:
- Automatically, all PC races aside from human are outright banned. Again, the other races do not fit in with the scheme of this module even if they can be roleplayed as human - as they don't work with many of our systems, along with giving some players an unfair advantage. Those trying to create any non-human race will find they have been scripted out of the world, and will not be allowed to enter the module.
7) Metagaming:
-Most of you should be familiar with this rule by now. Knowledge or information used in-character when there is no possible way for your character to know, picking up items with a new character after your old character died, or RPing something that is out of your abilities in game are all examples of metagaming. Metagaming is HIGHLY frowned upon here, and in some cases, a banable offense. Metagamers will be dealt with on a case by case basis.
8) Powergaming:
-There is no real way to powergame this server, however, we will place the rule here anyway. We allow you the freedom to build your character however you like. We understand that you may want your character ultra strong, or ultra dextrious, or ultra savvy. That is completely acceptable. However, this server is just as much about RP as it is surviving it, and you are expected to Roleplay as you would in a real world situation. It is after all, a modern survival horror.
Farming and widespread killing of zombies is not acceptable, and we have removed the incentive in doing that. All creatures will reward no XP whatsoever. All XP will be gained from RP, events, quests, and other scripted systems.
9) Twinking/Muling:
- "Twinking" is when you give items to lower level characters, especially when shared between your own characters and accounts.
- "Muling" is a similar offense, except that it is when you hold items for another player wishing to rebuild or remake his character.
- When your character dies on the server, this setting considers them to be permanently extinguished in the world. Their equipment is no longer the property of that character, and is to be dealt with ICly with those very same IC consequences. It is against the server rules to return to the location of your death on a new character, and re-equip yourself with those same drops that you just lost. It is also against server rules to have another player do the same thing for you, so that you are not set back. This is considered a serious offense, and a clear breach of IC. It is considered a form of both Metagaming and Powergaming, and will be dealt with accordingly.
10) Intimate Roleplay:
- Intimate Roleplay is permitted as this is an adult server and we expect everyone to be of legal age logging into Necropolis: Zombie Survival. With this being said, please remember that this is -not- a Social Server. Players have the choice to cultivate a relationship and the freedom to do so as we understand this is a large part of any story, but we must also respect the players who don't wish to see those kind of things. Also remember that all actions have consequences, and if your characters are caught doing something questionable in public, they will be reacted to appropriately.
IC only exists upon OOC consent, so be considerate when involving others and respect one another's boundaries. If a player expresses OOC or IC that there is something they are uncomfortable with, you are expected to respect that. It never hurts to check first. No player is required to use, watch, or be involved with Adult content. It is purely optional. Non-consensual acts are considered PvP, and follow those same rules. Absolutely no child characters are allowed in the server, and that is extra stressed for adult content.
11) Use Common Sense:
Every person here is expected to generally get along, keep in character, and play nice. Remember, this is just a game and it is a survival horror. If you die in game, please understand that 90% of the time you are not going to be resurrected by a DM. As this is based on a real world situation, you understand that people die and cannot be brought back to life. The same concept applies here, so if you die, please act with maturity and taste.
Read and re-read these, and your playtime should be smooth sailing. Get out there and have fun, survivor.
